The Believer’s Victory

Behold I give unto you power to tread on
Serpents and scorpions and over all the power of
The enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt
You(Luke 10:19)

Jesus has given us authority to walk on all power of the enemy! .You will notice that the word power occur twice in our text. There are two different Greek words for power in our text. The first word is “exousia” which literally means authority, right or privilege. The second word “Dunamis” is ability or strength. Our text should literally read like this:

Behold I give unto you authority, right or privilege
To walk on serpents and scorpions, and over all
The ability or strength of the enemy and nothing
Shall by any means hurt you.
(Luke 10:19)

Jesus referred to the ability or strength of Satan as NO-THING:

Behold I give unto you authority, right or privilege
To walk on…all the ability or strength of the
Enemy and nothing (which means NO-THING of
All the ability or strength of the enemy, Satan)
Shall by any means hurt you.
(Luke 10:19)

All the ability or strength of Satan are NO-THING!. This simply means that Satan’s ability or strength has ZERO effect on the believer because of the authority God has given to him.

Satan is now become a nonentity or a cipher as far as the believer is concerned. He cannot possibly DO THE BELIEVER ANY HARM. Glory to God!

The word shall is a very powerful word in the English language. It is generally used to express a command or to express what seems inevitable or likely[to happen] or to express futurity or termination.

In our text, this word is used to express the inevitable!. Jesus was quite certain that none of Satan’s ability or strength shall by any means hurt us. Satan cannot by any of his agencies or channels hurt the believer who understands his place of authority and walks in the light of it.

The English word “hurt” is translated from a Greek word “Adikeo”. “Adikeo” is used in the Greek New testament Bible to describe the wrong or ill or insult done to a person or thing. It is also used when a privilege or right is violated or when the highest injustice is committed against a person.It is used in this sense 27 times in the Greek New Testament.

Satan cannot cause any pain nor inflict injuries on our bodies when we stand against him. It is impossible for him to deplete our soundness, strength and effectiveness by all modes of his operations against us. He cannot rob us or violate the privileges we have in Christ. Let us make up our minds to demonstrate Satan’s defeat. We must refuse to be robbed nor denied of our rights in Christ!

Allow the truth of God’s word to soak into your spirit. Glory to God forevermore!

The Spiritual Realm-Rex al Opusunju D.D- Part Two

In our last teaching we learned that the spiritual realm is an authentic world…the father of our natural and physical sphere of life- earth.

All activities on earth are governed and influenced by the beings of the spiritual world.

There are time-honored laws in the Spiritual domain. When these Laws are known, understood and applied properly, miracles will naturally follow us all the time.

But when we violate these laws, we reap the consequences here on earth.

The Laws of the spiritual world are higher Laws for these laws exert DOMINION OVER AND ABOVE all natural and physical laws. Glory to God!

NO DISTANCE OR TIME

There is no distance or time in the spiritual world. Distance and time only exist in the natural and physical sphere of life-earth. The spiritual domain is boundless. It stretches into eternity-with no beginning and ending:

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the THIHGS WHICH ARE NOT SEEN: for the things which are seen are TEMPORAL; But the THINGS WHICH ARE NOT SEEN ARE ETERNAL.
(11 Corinthians 4:15).

REACHING INTO THE SPIRITUAL REALM

Everything you need in this life as a Christian that is consistent with a godly life is already provided for you in the spiritual world by our heavenly father God:

Blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ who hath BLESSED US WITH EVERY SPIRITUAL BLESSEING in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 1:3).

By your faith, you can reach into the spiritual world and bring down the blessings of God to the earth. Your faith is the arm which brings the blessings of God down from the spiritual realm into the earth.

God has dealt to you the measure of His faith-(Romans 12: 3).

You have the God-kind of faith-Glory to God!

WORDS ARE INVOLVED

You must grasp the bond that exists between the spoken word of God and faith. You can speak death or life into your life with your mouth. There is a law of words in the spiritual sphere of life. When you speak words that are out of agreement with the word of God, you sever yourself from the blessings of God:

Death and life is in the POWER OF THE TONGUE: and they who indulge in it, shall eat the FRUIT of it (for death or life) (PROVERBS 18: 21 Amplified Bible)

Words are the POWER OF THE TONGUE referred to in the above verse of scripture.

WORDS have a by-product called FRUIT.

FRUIT is the OUTCOME of words…the EFFECT of words… The result or CONSEQUENCE of words.

The outcome, effect, results and consequence of words, according to this verse of scripture is DEATH OR LIFE.

Jesus said you can have WHATSOEVER YOU SAY WITH YOUR MOUTH
(Mark 11:23)

This is Gods inevitable law of faith. It works in the spiritual domain as well as in the natural and physical sphere of life-Glory to God!

The Spiritual Realm-Rex al Opusunju D.D-Part One

The spiritual realm is a supernatural territory and sphere of life. It is concealed,
invisible or hidden away to the human senses.

It is the kingdom or sphere of the God-Head, the believer and God’s elect Angels. It is also the territory or sphere of Satan, the unbeliever and Satan’s demon-spirits.

The spiritual domain is a real place or province and it is always busy with diverse activities. It is the father of the natural and physical realm-earth.

All activities on earth are influenced and governed by the beings of the spiritual realm. Everything good or bad that has ever happened to you or your loved ones on earth has its origin from the spiritual realm.

IT IS LIKE A COIN

The spiritual domain or sphere of life is like a coin –it has two kingdoms: Light and darkness.

These kingdoms are in an open conflict or war with one another. The Kingdom of Light does not know any defeat, sorrow or heartache. Not one weak day or defeated moment has ever come to you on earth from the kingdom of Light. Everything about the kingdom of LIGHT IS VICTORY!

Angels come from the kingdom of LIGHT- which is located in the spiritual realm to serve and protect you on earth.

He gives His angels charge concerning you to KEEP you in all your ways.
(Psalm 91:11)

Aren’t all angels’ spirit that are sent to HE LP and SERVE those who are going to be saved?
(Heb.1:14 An American translation)

The kingdom of darkness is full of confusion, misery and defeat.

God the father, Jesus and the Holy –spirit are in charge of the KINGDOM OF LIGHT while Satan controls
the activities of the kingdom of darkness

LIGHT ALWAYS DEMONSTRATE SUPERIORITY OVER DARKNESS
Glory to God!

…the LIGHT shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has NEVER OVERPOWERED IT…
(John 1:5 Amp. BIBLE).

THE EARTH-A MIRROR IMAGE

The earth is the mirror-image of the Spiritual domain. Are there liars on earth?
There is a liar in the spiritual realm:

You belong to your father, the DEVIL…when he LIES; he speaks his native language for he is a LIAR and the FATHER OF LIES.(John 8:44).

Are there thieves, robbers, and assassins on earth?
There is a thief, robber and assassin in the spiritual sphere of life:

…the THIEF comes to STEAL, KILL and DESTROY…
(John 10:10).

Are there prisons for criminals on earth?
There are prisons for eternal criminals in the spiritual domain:

And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own habitation, He has reserved in
EVERLASTING CHAINS under DARKNESS for the judgment of the great day;(Jude 6).

Are there time-honored Laws on earth?
There are time-honored Laws which are established in the spiritual domain:

…the Holy Spirit Law OF LIFE THROUGH CHRIST Jesus has set me from the LAW OF SIN AND DEATH.
(Romans 8:2).

Are there consequences that follow the infringement, abuse, violation or contravention of the Laws on
earth…like the Law of gravity for instance?

There are consequences that follow the infringement, abuse, violation or contravention of the Laws of the spiritual realm!

When you become conscious and grasp in your mind the fact that the spiritual domain is an authentic world-governed by time-honored laws, you will move in that world with great confidence and miracles will follow you all the time… Glory to God!

Dead to Sin But Alive to God

And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. Romans 8:10

Paul’s expressions in the above Scripture text appear as if he is not sure that Christ lives in the Believer in the power of the Spirit. In contrast he is quite certain of the fact. The editors of the King James Bible on the other hand leave us with the impression that Paul was not quite certain of the fact.

This verse should read thus:

Since Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the spirit is life because of righteousness.

Notice the phrase “…Christ be in you…”.

This simply means that Christ is resident in your spirit. Your spirit has become His domicile.

You must allow your heart to receive this truth. The awareness of this fact will cause a revolution in your spiritual life.

You can face life’s challenges with a sense of mastery instead of defeat.

…the body is dead because of sin;

Your body is animated by the presence of the life giving Christ within and is unresponsive to sin as a corpse is unresponsive to the cries of mourning and bereavement around it. This simply means that sin has lost its appeal to your flesh. Your body can no longer respond to sin’s plea because it is dead to sin. Glory to God!

“…; but the spirit is life because of righteousness…”.

This means that the pervading presence of Christ in you makes your spirit alive to righteousness. You have become spiritually aware of your right standing with God because of Christ’s pervading presence in you. Glory to God!

Romans 8:11

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

It is interesting to note that the same Spirit that has raised Jesus Christ from the dead dwells in you. Be assured in your mind that God will do no different to your body what He did to the body of our Lord Jesus When He overwhelmed and permeated it with His divine presence; raising it from the dead. It is also implied that the body of Jesus was not only raised from the dead but also healed of every sickness and disease which he bore for us on the cross. Visualize in your minds eye what the Spirit of God can and will do to your death-doomed bodies now. He will give life to it more abundantly. Glory to God !

The Law of Grace

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Romans 8:1)

We need to appreciate the revelation behind this scripture text. If we get so near to understanding it, I believe life could be so different.

Notice Paul the apostle is talking about the present time.The word “now ” indicates that he is talking about a truth that is applicable in the present time.

There is therefore now no condemnation…

The Greek word translated in English as condemnation is the word katakrima.

This word is from another Greek word which is a compound word katakrino which literarily means to judge against. Katakrima is an adverse sentence given as a verdict against one who is found guilty in a court of law.It is a sentence of condemnation or damnation.

As far as the present time is concerned, not even one man or woman or thing can bring an adverse sentence or verdict or judge against or damn those whose lives are engrafted in Christ.

The reason for this is because Jesus is presently carrying on a ministry at the right hand of the father on our behalf as our advocate. The advocacy of Jesus even extends to those believers who are out of fellowship with the father as a result of sin.

(John 2:1): My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

When a believer is out of fellowship with the father God through sin, although other believers might disapprove of him, he should remember that he has an advocate in heaven who pleads his cause before the Father God, Jesus the Righteous.

Sin definitely will bring condemnation to our spirits but not from God. God does not bring a Charge against those he has made righteous or justified. He does not bring a charge against those he has acquitted and discharged of guilt.

Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. (Romans 8:33).

God does not criminate, accuse, and call in question those he has justified. We are God’s elect and as such His own favorite Children.
When we sin however, our spirit will condemn us but if we confess our sins to God, He will forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 3:20, 21; 1 John 1:9):

For if our heart condemn us…
(1 John 3:20-21)

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9 )

Please realize that your heart is your spirit.The word heart and spirit is used interchangeably in the word of God. It is a synonym for the human spirit.

Notice in the above scripture that it is our heart (spirit) that condemns us.

This is true when we sin. Our heart condemns us.

If we acknowledge our wrongdoings and deviations (sins) to God, He will send them away from our lives and will not hold us accountable for them any longer.

He will relate to us as though we never sinned or did any wrong and He will wipe completely every record of those sins and will not remember them any more.

He then heals us of the moral failure and makes us clean again and removes every trace of guilt that still remains in our heart as a result of sin.

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. (Hebrews 8:12 )

We cannot push forward or make meaningful progress in our spiritual lives when we cover our tracks (sins) from God but we experience a depth of His love when we go to Him in trust and sincerity to tell Him the truth about what we have done wrong:

He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy (Proverbs 28:13)

God’s tender love towards those who confess and forsake their sins is expressed in the meaning of the word mercy in Proverbs 28:13.

The Hebrew word is racham, which literally means to fondle.

In these expressions we observe that God lovingly reassures those who acknowledge to Him their wrongdoings and sins. He forgives them and assures them that nothing shall separate them from His great love towards them.

…to them which are in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit…

As long as we are following after the leading of the Spirit of God within us not even one man or woman or thing can bring an adverse sentence or verdict against us.

The Holy Spirit leads us in line with the teachings of the Word of God. Even in the midst of moral failure if we allow the Spirit of God to lead us back to repentance we shall not face condemnation. Walking after the Spirit of God when we sin is to respond to His leading in our heart to confess our sins to God in order to be forgiven and restored back to fellowship with Him.

We can respond to the Holy Spirit’s leading in our heart even when we are out of fellowship with God.

Refusing to respond to the Holy Spirit’s leading in our heart will be a walk after the flesh and our heart will condemn us
