Angels-Part 2- Rex al Opusunju D.D

In our last teaching, we learned that Angels are beings of the Spiritual world. They are the creation of the lord Jesus Christ. They are as countless as the sand on the sea shore!
They have their own willpower and intelligence. They display joy and desire. They are stronger and swifter than men.

We also learned about the different Angelic commands and Ranking in heaven.

THE CHERUBIM are the highest Ranking Angels- they are CONTINUALLY in the Presence of God’s Holiness.

THE SERAPHIM are the next highest ranking Angels. They are Heavenly attendants or ministers – they do not leave Heaven.

The ARCHANGELS are Angelic Rulers and Chiefs – they exercise ruler ship over the Angels placed under their command.

MICHAEL is an ARCHANGEL …he is the leader of the WARRIOR ANGELS- the Heavenly Army or Knighthood – trained for war.

He will lead a fight against Satan in the heavenlies in future. Satan will be extradited into the earth realm and will be allowed to operate until the time he is finally cast into the Lake of fire. (Revelation 12:7-9).

THE GUARDIAN ANGELS are custodians of human beings on earth. They escort, guard and defend us from all evil.

THE MINISTERING SPIRITS are Angelic waiters sent specially to SERVE the saints the blessings of God on earth. Glory to God!

ANGELS HAVE NAMES

All of God’s Angels – as countless as they are, have their personal cataloging.

The Bible gives us a glimpse of this truth.

The Angel that appeared to ZACHARIA the father of John the Baptist identified himself as GABRIEL:

And the angel answered and said to him, “I AM GABRIEL, who stands in the presence of God and was sent to speak to you …(Luke 1:19)

The Angel that disputed with Satan concerning the dead body of MOSES is called MICHAEL in Jude 9:

Yet MICHAEL the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of MOSES, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”(Jude 9).

“WHY IS IT THAT YOU ASK ABOUT MY NAME”

When Jacob desired to know the name of the Angel that wrestled with him at PENIEL, The Angel asked him a question:

And He said, “Why is it that you ask about my name?” And he blessed him there.
(Genesis 32: 39).

It is not obligatory for Angels to disclose their names to us. However God may permit them to do so. THIS IS THE EXCEPTION AND NOT THE RULE. Enough is said here!

ANGELS DO NOT PREACH THE GOSPEL.

The Angel that appeared to Cornelius COULD NOT PREACH THE GOSPEL to him but said:

… Send men to Joppa and call for SIMON whose surname is PETER WHO WILL TELL YOU WORDS BY WHICH YOU AND ALL YOUR HOUSEHOLD WILL BE SAVED, (Acts 11:13, 14).

Angels CANNOT PREACH THE GOSPEL under this dispensation. Jesus gave His disciples the task of preaching the Gospel:

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and PREACH THE GOSPEL to every creature
(Mark 16: 15).

Angels can bring MESSAGES to us concerning IMPORTANT EVENTS in the mind and purpose of God. Glory to God!
